My name is Michael Durso. I have a bachelor’s degree in biblical exposition and biblical languages from Moody Bible Institute (but my theology is reformed), and am currently completing a masters degree in biblical and theological studies and a masters in counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis. I have a weirdly diverse background in that I am a veteran of the US Air Force, was a youth pastor and full-time associate pastor, both in Baptist churches, and I used to own a painting and cabinet refinishing company. How God weaves disparate life elements into a single tapestry is one of His amazing graces. I don’t pretend to know how it works.
I am divorced, incredibly happily remarried, and a father of four children. I’m passionate about helping people learn to read and understand the Bible better, helping the Church lower the pedestal on which we’ve placed marriage (to the detriment of singles and divorcees), and helping people heal and flourish following divorce.
I have learned many things since I first began writing this blog, so not everything you read here necessarily represents my current views. With a few exceptions I’ve left posts as they were. If I deleted or edited everything as my views and learning shifted I wouldn’t get anything else done. Everyone is welcome to comment and interact.
